Call For Papers

2002 Summer Computer Simulation Conference
 (SCSC 2002)

Sponsored by:
The Society for Modeling & Simulation International (SCS)

Come and participate in the excitement surrounding the celebration of The Society's Fiftieth Anniversary! Share in the maturation of the Modeling and Simulation Profession, Industry, and Marketplace as we go forward into the second half-century of The Society. The Summer Computer Simulation Conference 2002 will address the Past, Present, and Future of Modeling and Simulation with a wide-ranging program that will capture and stimulate the imagination as we celebrate this milestone.

This year's Summer Computer Simulation Conference (SCSC 2002) manifests the commitment of The Society for Modeling and Simulation International to the successful growth of the entire modeling and simulation community for 50 years. The profession of Modeling and Simulation stands at a moment in history - the threshold of a new era - when the practice of modeling and simulation is a specialized discipline recognized both in academia and as a unique industrial concern. The coherent and systemic application of modeling and simulation in a wide variety of problem domains is a reality - the business and professional practice of modeling and simulation is becoming a shared experience.

Several topical perspectives will serve to illuminate the evolution of the modeling and simulation community. There will be three categories of participation: fully reviewed papers, extended abstracts, and presentations.  Click here for a list of topics.

Abstracts or other proposals should be submitted as a PDF file to the site http://scs.proceedingscentral.com/ by March 22, 2002. Papers received after this deadline will be considered as long as time and space on the program permit. Each abstract must include the title of the proposed paper and a short summary (400-900 words) for proper positioning in the conference. Please indicate which conference topic is most appropriate, listing first and second choices. Notifications of acceptance status will be sent on April 12, 2002.

Please note that your final manuscript will need to be electronically submitted as a PDF file to the site http://scs.proceedingscentral.com/ by June 1, 2002 to guarantee inclusion in the conference CD and final program. Authors of accepted papers are expected to attend the conference, present their work to their peers, transfer copyright, and pay a conference registration fee at the time their camera-ready paper is submitted.
