Past Meeting Report and Pictures

The first editions of these meeting were focused on Industrial Plant Business Sector therefore the new ones involve Companies of different areas; for instance in March 2014 over 20 Companies and 3 International Organization attended the event, while over 120 Curricula was presented by students and young engineers and over 600 campus interviews were completed with Leading Companies active at International and National Level; these Companies resulted very interested in evaluating young engineers (i.e. Genova, Meeting Summary & Images, February 2012, June 2012, March and October 2013, March 2014, Fall 2014, Spring 2015, November 2015, Spring 2016, December 2016 ). The Customer Satisfaction Level of Companies and Institution is summarized in the following report March 2014. Pictures of April 2015 edition are summarized in this gallery.

Press Release of a Previous Meeting: 1 YEAR 1 DAY: 1 Year of interviews completed within 1 Single Day

Industries and Institutions looking for Talented Young Engineers for speeding up Innovation

November 23rd, the Genoa Polytechnic School has opened the doors of its prestigious Headquarters, Villa Cambiaso, for the classical meeting with the World of Industry & Research and the young engineers. During this day it becomes possible to finalize job opportunities through Campus Interviews with Industries, Hi-Tech Company and Research Centers. After an overview on the current situation, Prof. Agostino Bruzzone, event coordinator and president of the Master MIPET, has promoted an intense debate with over twenty Companies and Institutions, relevant at National and International level. The discussion allowed the different players to present their initiatives and to explain clearly their expectations, proposals and needs. After this discussion the interview sessions started immediately. In fact, by this way approach the Genoa Polytechnic School offers the possibility, in a single day, to attend interviews that normally would need an entire year, hence the motto 1 YEAR 1 DAY (www.itim.unige.it/mipet/1year1day ). It should be emphasized, moreover, the Industrial and Technological Excellence of the entities attending the event as well as their motivation for searching talented young engineers; the list of participants includes ABB, Danieli, Tenova, Fisia, Accenture, Ansaldo Energia, APM Terminal, Cetena, KPMG, IBM, Wartsila, Masdar Institute, NATO STO CMRE, PSA Voltri, Rina, Cad.I.Tech, Cal-Tek, IB, Mast, Tech-Value, Vernazza Truck cranes The purpose of this day is clearly multiple: a major goal is to reinforce and renew the strong connection, in Genoa, between Engineering Faculty and innovative international reality. Transversally, the meeting allows young graduates to face the challenge of their first job interview, to experience interaction with leading Industries and Institutions. This is a key test to check the ability of young engineers to deal companies, to probe themselves in front of an audience of stakeholders different from that one faced as students and that requires a mature and professional. Do not underestimate the strategic importance for Companies to show and explain themselves to an audience interested in the pursuit of excellence, to capture the attention of those who will be their future, which will soon become their present and which will innovate, state and reinvent their past in a relentless pursuit of progress and success. In this context, the participants were also able to experience the SPIDER (Simulation Practical Immersive Dynamic Environment for Reengineering), a new generation of Virtual Cave made from Simulation Team, that lets you interact dynamically with virtual worlds. The SPIDER enables to offer examples of innovative solutions created by Genoa University for real projects with Industry and International Agencies in multiple sectors including security, plant engineering, logistics, defense and medicine. At the same meeting it was presented the 7th edition of the International Master MIPET, which through its corporate sponsors is the promoter of the initiative wanted by the industry and an opportunity to bring the new engineers to work. The meeting was attended by well over a hundred young people, mostly new graduate engineers interested in starting their careers; in this edition of the event, as in the past, were also present senior students and young engineers; EURES also, with his staff, has presented additional opportunities provided by the European Community.
